Mob Wives star Angela “Big Ang” Raiola has died early morning of February 18 after battling stage 4 brain and lung cancer. She was 55.
Big Ang had been in and out of the hospital for weeks after she stopped responding to chemotherapy. She passed away surrounded by “nothing but love from her immediate family, and closest friends,” a family posted on Twitter.
Raiola’s sister, Janine Detore, recounted the ailing star’s final moments.
She said that near the end, the star’s fight grew so intense Detore set up a GoFundme page to help raise money for her Big Ang. The actress’s breathing was already labored and the amount of pain she was experiencing was “by far more than she could handle.”
Prior to her passing, a representative took to Twitter to appeal for respect and privacy.
In one of her last tweets, Big Ang thanked her fans for their support.
Raiola leaves behind her husband, Neil Murphy, and son, Anthony Donfrio.
