Its that time of the year again, so ladies and gentlemen, mark your calendars for April 27th, 2013 as The Green White and Blue Commission, bring you their annual ball celebrating Sierra Leone’s 52nd Independence. I cant wait see what the fabulous GWB team has up their sleeves this year. I am already super excited about the location which is the newly renovated Howard Theatre! Its simply divine!! Anyways, I could not be any happier sharing tips for the glamourous ball of the year again! Last year I shared cocktail attire ideas and budget friendly dresses for the women and Jean Claude was kind enough to share suit ideas for the men. Its quite obvious Sierra Leone has some of the most beautiful women on the planet ( yes I am very biased…its my beloved country)…so I am hoping to see these gorgeous women in some equally gorgeous gowns at the ball this year. Remember last year, the stunning Sarran Jabbie got the best dressed it was more than deserving.
I thought I could compile everything into one post, but not only do I get overly excited when I start talking about dresses, I dont want to overwhelm you guys, so I hope you are inspired by some of these gorgeous gowns, I will have another post up next week, with tailors to contact, stores to get fabrics from, online stores to get you some excellent bargains, and of course some more gorgeous African print gowns I have spotted!

Gown Inspirations for the Ball
This year, I am looking forward to some fun bright colors, structured silhouettes and a whole lot of mermaid gowns! I am so inspired by the Stephane Rolland collection and his eye for detail is simply out of this world.
Giambattista Valli Fall 2012 collection is one of my favorite ever. His infusion of prints with such abstract and over the top designs is divine. It could never go wrong, and the way the dresses fit to the body.. amazing! Joanna sported a look by him at my Washingtonian Style Setters 2012 Party and stole the show.. pics below.
Last year I was honored to be selection as a Washingtonian Style Setter for the 2012 September Issue and I really wanted to celebrate my personal style and since I had worn an African gown for the magazine, I talked to my friends and they were all very excited to wear African Printed gowns to the Style Setters Party. I thought they all looked really radiant and beautiful and I thought some of these gowns may inspire you as well on what you would want to wear to the ball. Check them out.
